MCCL endorses Glenn Gruenhagen for District 18B

I am honored to announce that the MCCL State PAC has endorsed my candidacy for re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 18B.

In his letter announcing my endorsement MCCL President Leo LaLonde states "Our endorsement is based on your commitment to the pro-life cause, as evident from your responses on the 2014 MCCL Candidate questionnaire and your commitment to working with MCCL to ensure MCCL's pro-life strategy is implemented. Working together we can be successful and we will make a difference in Minnesota."

I am also proud to have a 100% voting record with MCCL for the 2014 legislative session.

Gruenhagen Named 2014 Best Friend of the Taxpayer

The Taxpayers League of Minnesota has recently released their 2014 Legislative Scorecard.  Representative Glenn Gruenhagen was among those listed with 100% on that Scorecard.  "These legislators deserve special recognition for their efforts to limit the growth and reach of State Government."  Rep. Gruenhagen was named by the Taxpayers League as one of the five "2014 BEST FRIENDS OF THE TAXPAYER" for his 100% score and for signing the taxpayers protection pledge.  These legislators are being recognized for making and keeping their promise to the Taxpayers of Minnesota.

Long-Term Care Providers Endorse Glenn H. Gruenhagen

Bloomington, MN August 2014 - CARE-PAC, the political action committee for Care Providers of Minnesota, recently endorsed Glenn H. Gruenhagen for re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 18B.  Gruenhagen's support and interest in long-term care was the primary reason he earned the CARE-PAC endorsement.

"Our dedicated long-term care professionals are proud to support Glenn H. Gruenhagen" said Patti Cullen, President and CEO of Care Providers of MN.  "Glenn understands our state's long-term care issues and he has a deep commitment to maintaining Minnesota's reputation for high-quality long term health care."

Cullen stated "the greatest opportunity for long-term care services and supports for seniors is the support of our elected officals to commit to funding the needs of our seniors so that providers can continue to provide the quality of care that our seniors deserve and expect."

"The state of Minnesota should ensure that all aging MInnesotans receive safe and quality care from experienced caregivers. Nursing homes, assisted living settings and home care providers struggle to hire experienced, quality caregivers in their settings due in part to the low wages and benefits they are able to offer given inadequate state funding. Caregivers are the cornerstone to providing quality care for Minnesota's seniors.  It is up to lawmakes to invest in these jobs and the caregiving profession by supporting and passing rate increases that pay for the long term care services and supports that senior's need.  We are excited to endorse Glenn H. Gruenhagen to continue supporting caregivers and quality care and to continue our partnership with elected officials into the future."

Health Care in Crisis: Is Government the Solution or the Problem?

The U.S. healthcare system (if it can even be called that) is like a person with an upset, sore stomach. No matter how we feel overall, the nagging pain is there, but we don't know the cause. Is it a mild flu or a deadly cancer? What we do know is we want it taken care of before it gets worse.

Everyone agrees: We want access to affordable, high quality health care whenever we need it. But we have this nagging feeling that something is terribly wrong. U.S. health care needs healing.

We have asked government to diagnose the problem and provide an effective cure. But is government solving our problems or making them worse?
